What We Do

For over 30 years, the Canadian Fuels Association (CFA) has worked alongside partners and stakeholders, earning the trust of governments across Canada as a reliable source of industry data, technical expertise, and information on conventional fuels like gasoline and diesel. Our mission is to support a strong, innovative Canadian fuel industry that drives economic growth and bolsters energy security.

At the same time, we are committed to advancing the decarbonization of the transportation sector. We actively promote low-carbon fuel solutions and emission-reduction technologies while advocating for policies that encourage investment in clean fuel production. By doing so, we help create jobs, strengthen local economies, and support Canada’s environmental goals.

Advocacy

As the voice of the transportation fuel industry, the CFA keeps the lines of communication open between industry and all levels of government regardless of political affiliation to foster meaningful discussions about policy choices, their benefits, and their outcomes. We provide expert advice, data, and analysis to help shape informed policy decisions that balance economic growth with environmental progress.

Our advocacy focuses on creating a smart, supportive regulatory environment that allows the industry to thrive, contributing to job creation, economic growth, and energy security. We are also committed to promoting low-carbon technologies and fuel solutions, working to reduce the carbon footprint of the transportation sector. By advocating for increased investments in biofuel infrastructure and low-carbon innovations, we aim to position Canada competitively in the global clean energy market, reduce import reliance, and ensure a sustainable, secure fuel supply for all Canadians.
