Bob Larocque, a native of Hawkesbury, Ontario, recently joined the Canadian Fuels Association as President and CEO in September 2020. Bob is proud to represent Canada’s innovative fuels sector and the critical role the sector plays to provide reliable, safe and environmentally responsible transportation energy to all Canadians.
Bob leads the Association in driving policies that improve environmental performance, protect industry competitiveness and strengthen Canada’s critical energy infrastructure. Focusing on maintaining an open dialogue between industry and government, its stakeholders and the public are priorities. Bob also strongly believes that the Association can offer access to information and analysis in order to help drive informed policy decisions.
Prior to joining the CFA, Bob was the Senior Vice-President at the Forestry Products Association of Canada where he supported the sector on policy and technical issues relating to climate change, innovation, Indigenous engagement and environmental regulations. Mr. Larocque was also responsible for supporting the sector in achieving its “30 by 30 Climate Change Challenge”. Bob attended the University of Ottawa graduating with an Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering. He resides in Ottawa, Canada with his wife Tara and their three children.”×
Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Lisa Stilborn joined the Canadian Fuels Association (CFA) in February 2015 as Vice President of the Ontario Division, and was later named Vice-President of Public Affairs. With over 30 years of government relations experience, she leads government and stakeholder outreach activities on behalf of the CFA.
Prior to joining the CFA, Lisa was Chief Operating Officer at Temple Scott Associates Inc., a leading government relations firm. She has held several directorships and is a current member of the Board of the Ottawa Airport Authority and the former Chair of Bruyère Continuing Care – a network of Ottawa hospitals.
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto (Trinity College). In her free time, she likes to travel, walk, read, cook and watch movies. She resides in Ottawa with her husband, Dave, and her two cats.
Born and raised in Gatineau, Quebec, Carol Montreuil joined the Canadian Fuels Association (CFA) in October 2001 as Vice-President – Eastern Canada. He oversees the issues and activities in Eastern Canada, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada.
Carol has been engaged in the petroleum industry for over 35 years. Before taking up his present position with the CFA, he was Director of Governmental Affairs at Shell Canada, which included several management positions bringing him to over ten years working in the refining sector.
Carol holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, and a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from Université de Montréal.
Additionally, Carol Montreuil holds positions as Chairman of the Board of Directors ofSociété de gestion des huiles usagées(SOGHU) – the Quebec Used Oil Management Association, member of the Board of Directors of the Conseil Patronal de l’Environnement du Québec (CPEQ) and member of the Governors’ Council of Association Pipeline (APL).
Outside of work, Carol spends most of his free time training as a triathlete. He has completed 10 Ironman events and competed in two qualifications at the annual world championship in Kona, Hawaii. He speaks fluent English and French. He resides in Mont-Tremblant with his spouse, Francine and has two sons in Montréal.×
Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, David Schick joined the Canadian Fuels Association (CFA) in December 2019 as Vice President of Western Canada. He is active in policy development and government relations across various levels of government with a focus on Western Canada.
David has worked in the downstream energy business for over 30 years. Prior to joining the CFA, he was the Director of Policy and External Affairs at Parkland for two years; prior to that, he worked in various positions with Chevron, including managing Policy, Government and Public Affairs, systems development, planning and finance roles for over 28 years.
David served as Chair of the B.C. Used Oil Management Association for 11 years. He is currently a director of the B.C. Bioenergy Network and the Clean Fuels Theme Lead for the Clean Resource Innovation Network (CRIN). David has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology from the University of Victoria. He lives in North Vancouver with his wife and son.
Born in Saint-Paul de Montminy, Québec, Dany Laferrière joined the Canadian Fuels Association (CFA) as Vice President, Communications & Outreach in February 2024. With over 30 years of experience in strategic and operational communications, reputation management, and outreach, Dany oversees the development and implementation of the association’s communication strategy.
Dany began his career as a military public affairs officer, serving Canada for 20 years both domestically and internationally. During his military service, he provided communications support and strategic counsel to senior military commanders, elected officials, diplomats, and bureaucrats in Canada and abroad. After retiring from the military, he spent 15 years with Suncor Energy, where he held various management positions, ultimately leading the team responsible for providing communications support to executive leaders overseeing operations across the company.
Dany holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Royal Military College of Canada, a certificate in Public Affairs Management from Ryerson University, and has completed several leadership programs, including the Harvard In-Residence Leadership Program.
In his personal life, Dany enjoys traveling, fishing, woodworking, and coaching baseball during the summer. He is fluent in both English and French and lives in Calgary, Alberta, with his wife Val, where they raised their two daughters and son.
